Trash Talk Profiles

Every week an AI writes a trash-talk blurb for each manager in the power rankings. Trash Talk Profiles are how it knows who it's roasting. You write them, and the better they are, the better the trash talk gets.

Writing Your Profiles

  1. Click Trash Talk Profiles in the navigation bar.
  2. You'll see every active league member, including yourself.
  3. Write a note about anyone you want. You don't have to fill in everyone.
  4. Click save.

To remove a note, clear its text and save.

Who Can See What

  • The AI sees every note written about a manager, but never who wrote it.
  • Other members never see your notes. On a manager's profile page, you only see the note you wrote about them.
  • Commissioners don't see authors either. The notes are anonymous by design.

What Makes a Good Profile

Aim for about 300 characters, which is two or three sentences. A short note with specifics beats a long one full of adjectives.

  1. Start with his name or nickname. The AI knows him by his Sleeper username otherwise.
  2. Tell stories, not adjectives. "Traded his first-round pick for a kicker in 2022" gives the AI far more to work with than "bad at trades."
  3. Include fantasy habits. Always drafts Bears, panic-drops players after one bad week, sets his lineup at 12:59 on Sunday.
  4. Add an angle or two. Tell the AI how to use it: "any compliment should sound like it hurts to give."
  5. Mark anything off-limits. "(off-limits)" next to a topic keeps the AI away from it.
  6. Skip stats and recent results. The AI gets the current numbers every week, and stats in a note go stale fast.

Example

Dave. New baby at home (off-limits). Hasn't made a group trip in three years and always has an excuse ready. Sets his lineup from the parking lot at 12:58. Angles: his team shows up more than he does; any praise should sound like it physically hurts.

(Dave is made up. Write your own about the real guys.)

Why More Profiles Help

The AI avoids repeating jokes it used in recent weeks. If a manager has only one detail in his profile, the AI runs out of fresh material fast. Several short notes from different people, each with different stories, keep the trash talk from repeating.

Avoid real health problems or anything that's actually a sore subject. The AI can't tell a running joke from a real wound.
